Since the launch of iPhone 3GS by Apple I was waiting for this day. I was really excited to hear that iPhone 3GS was coming to Dubai through du.
Du announced that iPhone can be booked online with their online shopping portal with a booking fee of 200 Dirhams. So I made the online booking on 17th October 2009. I got a confirmation email about the booking and it stated I would receive another email by end of the month for completing the booking.
On 26th October 2009 I got an email from du that I can complete my order by paying the rest of the amount from their online eShop from 27th October 2009 midnight. So I went online at midnight and completed my order by paying the rest of the amount. I got an confirmation email that I should get the delivery in 3 to 5 working days. Today is the fifth working day and still I have no information about my phone delivery.
Yesterday I called up support to check the status of my order. They told me to email customer care. I emailed them to check my status. End of day I received a response from them

I checked my order detail and found a tracking number for Aramex. I called up Aramex and found that there is no documents with that tracking number. Wow!!! my shipment does not exist !!!!!!
Now I found that I can buy the unit directly from Du at Dubai Media City in building 14. This is the building right across my office. I am seriously thinking what the hell !!! Why did I do this booking by paying 200 Dirhams in advance, still waiting and no proper response from du customer support 🙁
Update: Just after I made this blog post I got my iPhone delivered. Thanks du for making our iPhone dream come true 🙂
